I have wanted to be a photographer ever since I got my first camera in middle school. I've come a long way from macro flowers and pictures of the family dog (or maybe not...?) and have graduated to couples in love (with lots of stops along the way). I honestly have no idea what I would do with my life if it wasn't this... I freakin LOVE wedding photography. I feel so lucky that it's my job to hang out with people on one of the happiest days of their life.
Here's the quick rundown on my life thus far: I grew up in Ohio, graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2012 (for photography!) and met my now husband that same year. I moved to Madison in 2014 and haven't looked back. We bought a house, got a puppy, and then got married in that order. And now I'm just over here living my dream life (don't hate me). Keep scrolling for cute puppy pics ;)
My goal is for you to look back at your photos and remember what the day felt like, not just what it looked like.
I have a ridiculous amount to be grateful for. Up at the top of that list would be my husband, Bobby. I knowwww I put the pic of my puppy first, but I can't really say I love my dog more than my husband, right?! Honestly, I think I started loving Bobby even more after we got our corgi, Winston (yeah I'm crazy it's fine) he's SUCH a good dog-dad.
We both have pretty big families and are all very close. My immediate family lives out in California, so we don't get to see them quite as much, but Bobby's family is here and I am actually the luckiest that they are all truly my family too in every sense of the word.
When we aren't at home on the couch with Winston, we are usually out somewhere drinking tasty beers and trying out all the awesome food Madison has to offer (emphasis on cheese curds).
I aim to make a unique connection with each of my couples from the first meeting, because I want to be more than just a photographer to you. I want to truly get to know your story and what makes you tick, because at the end of the day, the photos from this time in your life, engagement included, will be some of the most treasured in the years to come, and I don't want anything to feel fake or forced when I'm around. It is my goal to put you at ease and help you to feel like you can be yourself in front of a camera (and it's not even that scary)! I don't want you to feel like I'm just another vendor, I want you to be able to vent to me, confide in me, and know that I am there for you on your big day cheering you on as a friend, not just another client.
My couples book me because when they do, they know that they can sit back and actually live in each moment of their wedding day and trust that I am there to document it as beautifully as they are living it in real time. My favorite comment I've gotten from couples is that when they look back on their wedding photos, they remember not only how the day looked, but how it felt.
