I just want to prepare you all ahead of time… this is about to be a long blog post. There were just TOO MANY awesome moments and pretty details on Allie and Alec’s beautiful Devil’s Lake wedding day. When Allie and Alec reached out to me, I had actually decided I wasn’t going to be taking on any more weddings for 2016. However, Allie told me all about what they were planning and that it was going to be a small, laid back affair on the water at Devil’s Lake (somewhere I had never shot before, but I had been dying to!), and it was a Sunday, so I was available and I couldn’t say no! A few weeks later, I went down to Chicago to do an engagement session where I got to know them even more, and these two are so much fun, and so sweet together. Their wedding day was such a great reflection of what Allie and Alec truly value. They weren’t overly concerned with the details (their venue did most of the work for them!), they just wanted to finally be married and be able to celebrate with their closest friends and family. These two also get the award for most awesome/creative/adventurous exit I’ve seen! At the end of the night, they got in a kayak decked out with glow bracelets, and kayaked off into the night across the lake to their campsite where they stayed for their wedding night. I loved everything about this day and I’m so excited to share some of my favorite images with you!
