Nicole + Kyle | Intimate Door County Wedding

Kyle and Nicole created such an AMAZING wedding day. When they originally booked me, they were planning a big downtown Madison wedding, but along that process, they realized that they were planning a day that wasn’t truly them. So, they reached out to me to let me know that they were looking into different options for venues where they could plan a wedding day that was intimate, outdoors, and true to who they are as a couple. I was thrilled that they still wanted to have me as their photographer (even though they thought about traveling outside Wisconsin!), and we worked together to find a date that I was still available for once they decided a fall wedding up in Door County was the perfect spot to have an intimate day, but that their very closest friends and family would still be able to get to easily. Nicole found an amazing AirBnb that was actually still in the process of being finished, and she collaborated with the owner to make the house the perfect spot for a beautiful event. They made photos a true priority, we made it to 3 stunning locations around Bailey’s Harbor and Sturgeon Bay, it was really a photographer’s dream.

Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding: Relaxed and Boho. We aren’t setting expectations on our guests, their outfits or anything else. We’re going to try and let loose and have fun, and let everyone enjoy the day.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples?: Elope or keep it small.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?: Sneaking getaway weekends to Door County to plan.
