Cheyenne and Brent got married on what was forecasted to be one of the rainiest weekends of the summer so far. They knew when choosing their stunning outdoor venue, that it was a gamble with weather, and unfortunately their ceremony in the woods had to move in to the shelter of the pavilion at Burlap and Bells. Much more fortunately though, we had breaks in the rain at just the right times so that we were still able to do all of their wedding party portraits outdoors! It was supposed to rain literally all day, and when we had a break during their separate wedding party photos, we brought up the idea of instead of just doing a first touch (where they didn’t see each other, but held hands and read vows around the corner from each other), going ahead and doing a full first look so that we could do all of the wedding party photos in the break in the rain. Cheyenne and Brent really wanted to keep their original plan because so much had already needed to change – keeping one of their visions alive was important and I am SO glad they decided to do that because the forecast was wrong and we did indeed get to take their portraits together outdoors without rain after the ceremony. It absolutely poured for their ceremony, and the rain drops echoed off the tin roof – it was intimate and memorable, and watching Brent see his bride for the first time walking down the aisle was so special. I know it wasn’t exactly what they envisioned, but it was truly perfect. The umbrellas and rain throughout parts of the day made for some really cool and unique imagery too! I am soooo excited to share some of my favorites from this day with you!
