Chris + Jake | Door County Wedding | Gordon Lodge

Oh man, where do I even start with these two? I first met Chris and Jake at a coffee shop in Chicago on a verrrry rainy day. I remember meeting them and immediately feeling like I’ve known them for years. They are so genuine and the perfect compliment to each other. Their wedding day was one for the books. I arrived to Gordon Lodge a bit early to wander around a bit and the sun was out in full force. I headed over to the house where the whole wedding party was hanging out and getting ready for the festivities, and I could feel the excitement in the air as soon as I walked in. Jake and Chris practiced their vows a few times, hoping to get out some of the tears before the ceremony, and I felt beyond honored that they allowed me to capture some of their most emotional moments throughout the entire day. It’s amazing to witness all of the love on a wedding day, and when people are able to really let it wash over them and experience it, that makes for some of my absolute favorite images. There were lots of these moments throughout this day in addition to so much laughter, some intense waves during their overcast ceremony (which I could write another novel about… I loved every single thing they decided to include in their ceremony, it was so personal), and some pretty stellar dance moves.
