What a dayyyyyy. If you follow me, you’ll know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated the blog. With social media, it really just feels like an extra thing to do, but taking the time to do a full post on a wedding day really brings me back to why I love what I do. I LOVE telling stories, and a blog post is the best way to do it. It’s like a digital album in a way, not just a quick square on instagram. If someone is looking at the blog, I know they are really paying attention, which is amazing (thank you for being here). If I’m coming back to blogging, Maddie and Gio’s Chicago wedding day is the oneeeee to do it for. Omg you guys, this day was just perfection. Maddie and Gio got ready in the same hotel room, which I loved – the photos of Maddie helping with Gio’s tie are just perfection. Then Gio headed out after he was ready so that they could still have a first look moment once Maddie was fully ready! We headed out to do some photos with just the two of them downtown at the Rookery building, which has always been a bucket list location and it did NOT disappoint. We were running late, but thankfully the security person was beyond kind and helped us out with still getting the time we needed beyond our scheduled timeslot. The rest of the day was at the Dank Haus which was a new venue for me, but a staple to Chicago German heritage. It was perfect for their vibe and I had such a blast capturing the festivities of the rest of the day. BIG thank you to Maddie and Gio for trusting me with photographing their day and helping to bring their vision to life. I would do this one over and over if I could!
