Marisa and Justin have been waiting a long time to be able to call each other husband and wife. They decided to wait for their wedding day once they got engaged so that they could both be out of school. So by the time the day finally rolled around, they were more than ready. I’d say it was worth the wait! It was an absolutely beautiful fall day. The air was crisp and the sun was out in full force the whole day. Not a cloud in the sky! When I arrived at the church, the ladies were all hanging out eating lunch in the room right next to where all the guys were also having lunch. I love it when everyone is close by for the getting ready part of the day. In order to save time later in the day, and so that Marisa and Justin would be able to actually enjoy most of their cocktail hour, they opted to do a first look outside the church. Justin may or may not have turned around too early (because I always underestimate how quiet my voice can be sometimes ugh!), so I wasn’t set up for the ideal shot, but I like to think he just couldn’t wait to see his bride! His face lit up as soon as he saw Marisa. We staged an ideal first look set up after the fact with the setup I had in mind originally, but I used the real first look photos in the blog because… reality is almost always better. 🙂 After that, we did all of the family photos in the sanctuary, so all we had to do later, were some more immediate family photos at the golf course! (side note here: doing family photos before the ceremony is one of my favorite things ever! It’s basically everyone’s least favorite part of the day, so getting it out of the way early when possible is awesome)
After the ceremony, we headed out to The Legend where we took a walk around the property for some photos with the bridal party, and then we finished up to let everyone head to cocktail hour, because let’s face it – all everyone wants to do is have fun and talk to all of the friends and family gathered for the celebration! Right before the grand march, the sun was starting to set, and I knew Marisa was really hoping for a few sunset photos, so I snuck them out to the balcony for a few quick (and gorrrgeous) sunset shots! Then they had the whole night to celebrate with all of their loved ones. It was a great day and I was thrilled to have been a part of it!
